How long is the lead?

the lead is 50cm long, this is because this device serves as an adaptor for whatever you want to plug into it, you can extend the reach of the device using a traditional extension cable.

How can I find EV Chargers?

We recommend an application called Zapmap, but google maps also works to access EV charge points.

Does this work with all EV Chargers?

The OakEV Camper is compatible with all untethered chargers (bp pulse/podpoint, etc) this is because of the special microcontroller in the OakEV that constantly measures the incoming current and ensures that your caravan is safe!

Will this be safe with my device?

If your device can be plugged into a wall outlet, then yes! The OakEV Household perfectly mirrors the same electrical signal you would get in your house.

  1. The cable is fully protected from overloads or short circuits, as it has a current sensor which constantly measures how much current is flowing through it, if there is too much, then it will automatically disconnect from the charger!
  2. The connector lock can be easily released when required - as it communicates with the car charger just like an EV would
  3. If the charge point cannot supply the required power, the unit will not engage it, preventing an overdraw of current
  4. The product is fused at 13A, you will not be able to draw more current from it than 13A (which is what any device with a 3-pin plug should be rated for)

Can this be used to charge my E-bike or E-motorcycle?

Yes! This is one of the main applications of the OakEV Household, it will be able to charge anything which can connect to it via a 3-pin plug. It will, however, charge at the same rate as your bike would whilst at home.
